Congratulations on the purchase of your Large-Format Resetter unit. The unit has been carefully designed to give you reliable operation provided it is used correctly. Please take a few moments to read this pictorial guide and familiarise yourself with the product and how it should be used.

Firstly, unpack your unit and ensure that you have all the parts listed below.

(2) Lid
(3) This Instruction Leaflet

We don’t supply a battery with the unit because it more than doubles the weight (and therefore shipping costs) and because postal operators do not like batteries being shipped due to the risk of leakage.

Inserting the Battery.
Carefully remove the Lid (2).

Connect a good quality PP3 (9V) battery to the battery clip (4) as shown on the right. Ensure that the orientation of the battery is correct.

Insert battery into Resetter Unit (1), taking care not to trap the red and black wires.

Replace the Lid.

Resetting Cartridges.

Push the guide at the front of the Large-Format Resetter VERTICALLY downward into the alcove for the chip, as shown on the left. On no account should the unit be slid into place since this may bend the pins. Keep pressure on the cartridge as shown by the arrows to ensure that good contact is made between the Resetter and the chip.

Press the button marked ‘Start’ once. There is no need to keep the button pressed. The LED lights to indicate the unit is operational.

After approximately 3 seconds the LED flashes regularly to indicate that the cartridge has been successfully Reset. It is safe to remove the Resetter from the cartridge as soon as the LED begins flashing. If the LED flashes irregularly or flashes quickly, this indicates that the Reset operation failed. Remove the cartridge and repeat the whole operation. The Resetter unit turns itself off automatically after the Reset operation to conserve battery life.

Caring for your Resetter Unit
While no routine maintenance is necessary to give many years of operation from your Resetter, here are some precautions we recommend you follow:

• Do not allow the contact pins to become bent- we recommend you store the Resetter in its original packaging when not in use.
• Do not allow the pins to come into contact with metallic objects.
• If you don’t intend to use the Resetter for an extended period, we recommend you remove the battery to prevent leakage which may damage the unit.
• Do not allow the unit to get wet or be exposed to extremes of temperature or humidity.
• We recommend you reset cartridges before refilling them to minimise ink spillages on the Resetter casing.
